Global Japan Research Lab

Where does Japan stand in the world today?
As the most aged society and a country with significant gender disparities, Japan faces many challenges that are also shared globally, as outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
However, the extent and patterns of these challenges vary widely across countries.
This project seeks to explore the core of these issues through cross-disciplinary comparisons between Japan and other countries.
We will actively engage with members of the international advisory committee as well as mid-career and early-career researchers who share common interests.
In particular, we encourage the active participation of the younger generation in interdisciplinary research on Japan, supported by online seminars and in-person workshops.
